Sharmeen Obaid represents Pakistan at woman in the World Summit

Sharmeen Obaid is a Journalist, Activist and filmmaker of Pakistan. She has won many awards which includes two Academy Awards. She also won Lux Style awards for one time. nominations for Lux style awards were out week ago. She is one of the most popular and high profile film maker of the world.

In the World Summit she is heading back to the woman. She said that she is working hard for bringing stories of the woman fighting back to the stage in New York.

She has already attended the Summit for three times and now it will be her fourth time to attend it. She will be representing Pakistan in eight annual Women in the World Summit taking place this month at David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in New York.

Sharmeen has attended the World Summit in 2015.

Sharmeen Obaid shal be featuring in a session called ‘Pakistan’s honor’ on 7 April, where Cynthia McFadden, a NBC’s Senior investigative correspondent will be interviewing her.

She was talking in her session and said that, ‘i am bringing back the stories of the women who are fighting back to the stage in New York. From the women in Police to women  legislators and activists. It is necessary to talk about the women risking their lives for others’. SHe said that,’My urgent call to action is that women can no longer wait for a seat to oprn up on the decision-Making table ‘. they need to empower themselves.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, Canadian Prime Minister Justine trudeau, Scarlet johansson (actor), game of thrones star lena Dunham and Sarah Jones are included in the list of those participants who will be in the year’s Summit.
