Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah delivered his first speech to constituent assembly of Pakistan on 11th August, 1947. In his first speech, Quaid-e-Azam pinpointed all problems newly established was facing but also warned about the future problems.
If we read the speech now, it is amazing to know how accurate his predictions of problems were. Visionary man as he was, he also informed about the solutions for those problems. Here, we gathered the excerpts of his historic speech in which he informed about the future problems and solutions to solve them.
1. DEBILITATING LAW AND ORDER SITUATION
This is what Quaid said:
One thing Pakistan has failed to maintain for sure is how keeping a proper check on law and order. From the citizens to the political figures present in the highest ranks, law and order continues to be demolished.
2. BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION
Quaid said said this in his speech:
Each day, we hear new discoveries in Panama Leaks. We continue hearing bribery stories in the government and private sector of Pakistan as well. From 1947 to 2017, have we really changed?
3. BLACK-MARKETING AND ILLEGAL BUSINESSES
On such an unfortunate and nasty gimmick, Quaid said,
4. DISCRIMINATORY ATTITUDE TOWARDS MINORITIES
Quaid enlightened the nation to prevent religious discrimination in following words:
Pakistan came into being after joint efforts of various religious disciplines who wanted a place of their own. Since the beginning to Pakistan’s independence, rights of minorities were given a lot of focus. The White portion present on the Pakistan’s flag still depicts that minorities are a part of Pakistan and deserve equal rights as well.
5. THE DOWN-TRODDEN MASSES
Quaid said this, to ensure prosperity of masses, in his first speech to nation:
Drenched in power, we have forgotten to give something back to our country. The ratio of economic inequality continues increasing in Pakistan – where rich gets richer and poor gets poorer.
