After the epic failure of Pakistan team in World Cup 2016 and dramatize leaving of Waqar Yonus, the star role of PCB moves toward Inzamam-ul-Haq. Former captain Inzamamul Haq, was recently offered the chief selector’s spot by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)but he didn’t make a decision yet.
PCB administration confirmed that chairman Shaharyar Khan had a thorough conversation with Inzamam at his residence. The official statement shows
“Shaharyar has offered Inzamam the chief selector’s position and also agreed to some points raised by the former captain who is now head coach of the Afghanistan team,”
Official report shows that Inzamam, who is currently being salaried for $12,000 by the Afghanistan Cricket Board, was settled to be taken the place of Pakistan chief selector given ‘considerable authority’ and an appropriate deal by the PCB.
According to a PCB statement:
“He has also asked for time so that he can speak to the Afghanistan cricket officials and reach an amicable agreement with them as he does not want to leave them in acrimonious circumstances,”
Inzamam and PCB in the past were not able to make a deal due to authority and economic payment issues and was asked to come as a coaching-cum-batting adviser role.
