Selfie Stick now replaces with Selfie Drone with the launch of new Fotokite Phi
The world of selfies just got a whole lot higher with the launch of Fotokite Phi. Fotokite Phi is a mini aircraft on a leash which lets you take selfie to new heights. It works as a drone and helps in taking aerial photograph. The drone weighs just over half a pound.
The newly announced selfie drone features a unique tethered design that makes it easy to pilot as you can reel it in or let it run just like a kite after unfolding it, safe to operate as it is provided with the tether to help it maintain the distance close to its pilot and convenient to travel with as it’s four arms easily fold up allowing the device to fit in a travel-friendly tube. So in this way you can easily keep this device along with yourself in a suitcase while travelling.
It does not have GPS or landing gear. To steer, you press a button on the handheld remote and tilt your hand. It provides up to 15 minutes of flight time on a single charge that powers both the drone and the GoPro. Then it can be recharged.
The company plans to begin shipping units in March of 2016. The final retail price will be $500.
